18 July Camp Lokanda, NY

Found out about a habit of Francesca's last night....she sleeps with a pillow over her head. Ha. We treated ourselves to a lie in before having breakfast at a little diner across the road from the hotel. We were joined by more of her camp colleagues at breakfast. I had a bacon and egg muffin. Yum! I had the option of cheese on it, but after last night and the 'cheese dip' with the fries that Francesca recommended, I think I will be off cheese for a while.

We then headed off on our little day trip. We drove along Snake Road....what a lovely view over the mountains!

We decided to treat ourselves a little seeing as we hasn't seen each other in a while. She turned me into a total girl and FORCED me to get a gel nail polish manicure! The things I sacrifice myself for for my friends! I even had a pedicure too.......it was torture!!! There were massage chairs to sit in too..........aarrgghhh!!!!

We then went to have some lunch by the river. No wonder there are so many rafting places along the river, I was certainly tempted! Another good gab over a sandwich and it was time for dessert!

The last stop before I had to drop her off was The Creamery for some fabulous sundaes. Chocolate for Francesca and strawberry for me. Yummy!!!!!!!!!! On such a warm day, what's better than a nice fresh ice cream?

Sadly, the time had come to take her back to camp. So sad!!!! :- We'll see each other soon....I have to come back to Montreal to see what she's up to! P.S. While I remember, I was ordered to give her mum a big hug when I see her.....so watch out Pierra! ;-)

I then had a 3 hour drive to Philadelphia to meet my first couch surfing hosts, Mike and Doria. I had a little trouble parking, but got there in the end. They forgot that they had tickets to a concert this evening so I have the house to myself. Blogging and then a relaxing shower before bed, I think. I'll be getting up early tomorrow as I want to pack in as much sightseeing as I can before heading to Pittsburg. I have heard that you have to get to Independence Hall really early if you want to get one of the free tickets for the tour and to see the Liberty Bell. I'm hoping to have a geeky moment and see the stairs that Rocky ran up too ;-) I hope that they will be up early enough so that I actually get to spend some time with them before I go, otherwise I would feel a wee bit weird just spending the night in their house without knowing anything about them. Let's see eh.

Well, I'm off to have that shower! Night night!
